Do you have what it takes to help us grow our shortbread business? We are a very small artisan bakery trying to take over the world one delectable gourmet shortbread cookie at a time. Our mission is to bake real cookies using real ingredients that are as much a joy to eat as they were to create. Brand Ambassador/Sales Rep
We are looking for sales staff for in store sales, farmers markets. and craft fairs in and around Annapolis Valley and HRM for the 2023 market seasons.
Ideal candidates will
- be available for shifts on weekends or during the week,
- be cheerful and outgoing,
- enjoy telling our story,
- be fit and able to assemble and take down the booth,
- enjoy working both indoors and outdoors, and
- most importantly, know how to close the sale so our shortbread goes home with our customers!
A reliable vehicle is a necessity. All candidates should have a valid NS drivers license and a clean driving abstract.
Previous retail and customer service experience, cash handling experience and references are required. FoodSafe is required or you must be willing to take course.
Duties will include
- organizing and packing market kit,
- set up and take down of displays and market booth,
- enthusiastically telling our story and selling our product at markets,
- cashing out and recording sales at the end of each market, and
- helping care for market gear to ensure it is always in top notch condition.

Kitchen / Baking Assistant
Sable Shortbread is looking for an assistant to help our bakers and assist in the shop as needed. You are cheerful and outgoing and enthusiastic about our story and love to provide excellent customer service.
As our Kitchen Helper you will
- Follow daily work plans
- Clean equipment and maintain logs and records as needed
- Clean and sanitize baking utensils, tools, implements and machinery
- Accurately weigh and measure ingredients
- Slice dough to prepare it for baking
- Store dough and other mixtures properly
- Pack and store baked items properly
- Receive orders and put away
- Shop for ingredients
- Keep display case full and appealing to the eye
- Lift heavy sacks of flour and other baking items and fill ingredient containers as needed
- Keep kitchen and retail area clean and orderly
- Have a current food handling certificate
- Be a fluent English speaker
- Be on time to work
- Adhere to quality standards
- Represent the company and brand professionally, delivering on our brand promise: Share the Joy!
- Work assigned days, up to 20 hours per week.
