It is the 2nd Anniversary of the Grand Opening of our Shortbread Shop in Kentville. The very same week that we held that celebration, the WHO declared a pandemic. And we had to close down, regroup and re-invent. We kept going and you kept buying shortbread via our online sales, by email, over the phone and via Facebook and then you picked up your shortbread from our no contact curbside pick-up cart. Do you remember it?

To everyone that bought something during those first really tough weeks in 2020 and for those who came back when restrictions eased, then remembered to keep shopping local through the next set of restrictions, and then repeated these actions again and again over the past two years. Thank you! It’s why we’re still here and able to celebrate this milestone with you.
To say thank you, we assembled some great anniversary specials and we created three contests (2 online and one in-store) for a chance to win one of three sampler boxes.
All in all, while we have made it through the pandemic, now we face a new landscape where we don’t really know what the future looks like. We are weary, concerned, a little broken and in debt. Despite all the good efforts of so many people, it still took everything we had to get here.
We still need you and ask that you continue to help us promote this business to others. We are so grateful for all who saw the benefits of shopping local during the pandemic and had the foresight to know that keeping your local businesses afloat during the pandemic would pay off down the road for everyone.
At this stage, we must all keep up the good efforts to help us over the hurdles of getting on top of all the expenses that piled up during the shutdowns, restrictions and shortages. The struggle isn’t over yet. The challenge now is to get the business thriving not just surviving. Will you help us out?
